SOMMACT Project - 22 April 2010 - First progress report
Alesamonti, as italian builder of milling, boring an drilling machines, is the coordinator of SOMMACT (Self Optimising Measuring MAChine Tools), a research project granted by EU Seventh Research Framework Programme (FP7). SOMMACT develops and validates an innovative production hardware and control system founded on understanding, evaluating and controlling large machine tools production performances. SOMMACT project is started on September 2009 and now is available the first progress report; all work planned for the first six months of SOMMACT project execution have been performed according to schedule. A summary of the first progress report is available in the download area "Publications". Further information are available on the project website www.sommcat.eu <http://www.sommact.eu>
METAV 2010 - DUSSELDORF (D) 23-27 February 2010 Hall 15 Stand B48
Alesamonti will be present during METAV exhibition in Dusseldorf showing the latest news of its product range, boring, milling and drilling machines. The exhibition is an opportunity for Alesamonti to promote the beginning of SOMMACT (Self Optimising Measuring MAChine Tools), a research project granted by EU Seventh Research Framework Programme (FP7). SOMMACT goal is the integration of a machine tool with a embedded metrological devices, so to introduce the capability of executing a online traceable measurements on the machine tool systematic errors and on the machined part, thus providing substantial benefits in the work efficiency, guarantee of machine performance, improved maintainability and enhanced control of machining process.

NEW BROCHURE FOR AT127 BORING MACHINE 02 April 2009
We have included in the download area "Publications"" the new brochure for AT127 boring machine revised with strong innovation technology. The new brochure shows the main characteristics of the boring machine together with the new automatic tool changer based on anthropomorphic robot RTC50. The AT127 is a boring machine with movable column and five controlled axes; the machine structures are made in italian cast-iron. The wide range of special accessories increases the flexibility and versatility of the machine for all requirements of the customers and permits to use the AT127 also for milling and finishing.
ENERGY FROM THE SUN TO BUILD MACHINE TOOLS - 25 March 2009
Alesamonti is starting the procedures for building a photovoltaic plant with effective peak power of 160 kW; this plant will provide the major part of the electrical energy used to build boring and milling machines. With government feed-in tariff for twenty years and including net-metering, Solar PV system is a good investment in Italy. Planned and built by a well-recognized national company, specialized in renewable energy, the PV plant uses polycrystalline silicon modules with very high energy conversion efficiency, placed on the plant rooftop with a surface area of about 3800 square metres. The PV plant, the most big in the province of Varese for industrial application, can reduce the emission of carbon dioxin of about 100.000 kg/year, contributing to reach the objectives stated in Kyoto protocol.
7th EU FRAMEWORK PROGRAMME FOR RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT (FP7) - 15 October 2008
The European Commission has communicated that the proposal entitled SOMMACT (Self Optimising Measuring MAChine Tools), for which Alesamonti is the coordinator, has passed the final evaluation, with the help of independent experts, and it is estimated that funds will be available to support this proposal. The SOMMACT project is based on detection (in-process treaceable measurement embedded capabilities) and compensation (adaptative control and self-learning capabilities) of geometrical effects of varying external and internal quantities such as temperature gradients and workpiece mass. In the SOMMACT project will be involved 12 european organisations, among them an important national research institute, two universities and API Varese.
AUTOMATIC TOOL CHANGER WITH ANTHROPOMORPHIC ROBOT 8th May 2008
Seeing the remarkable interest observed during the METAV 2008 exhibition in Düsseldorf (D), Alesamonti has improved the automatic tool changer RTC50 with anthropomorphic robot. This innovative accessory has been designed to be easily installed on already existing machines (boring and milling machines with fixed and movable column) in order to increase the efficiency and the productivity of the machine. Detailed technical information are available in the area "PUBLICATIONS" of the web-site, under the heading "RTC50 brochure".
DEEP HOLE DRILLING UNIT MDH2000 14 April 2008
Alesamonti has improved the features of the deep hole drilling unit MDH2000; now it is possible to carry out deep hole drillings (up to 2000 mm) automatically on boring and milling machines with travelling column. This allows to optimize the workpiece clamping time as well as the overall dimensions and the investments in machines. Further information are available in the area "PUBLICATIONS" of the web-site, under the heading "Brochure MDH2000"
